Good quality, WAY too small

When I finally got my hoodie (ordered size XL), I realized immediately upon opening the box that it was not going to fit me. It was labeled as an XL, but was no bigger than maybe a big medium or small large. Luckily it fits my partner so I just gifted it to them. The quality of the hoodie is good, but pretty disappointing sizing. Decided not to order another because it took a while to get here and didn’t feel like dealing with guessing on weird sizing.
